The Paul J. Schofield ‘60 Memorial Scholarship

About This Scholarship

This award is established to honor the memory of Paul J. Schofield ’60. Paul spent his entire professional career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and was known for his excellence in mathematics.

The scholarship was created by Paul’s family and is intended to support a deserving student at Stuyvesant High School with a passion for academics and a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Preference will be given to student athletes, particularly those on the golf or swimming teams, and to students who have shown outstanding academic achievement. Additionally, the scholarship is intended to assist students pursuing post-secondary education and/or careers in math-related fields, reflecting Paul’s deep commitment to education and his career.


Applicant Criteria

  • Candidate must be a graduating senior from Stuyvesant High School matriculating to an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Candidate must display financial need.
  • Candidate must have participated in Stuyvesant athletics, with priority given to members of the golf and swimming teams.
  • Candidate must have excelled in Mathematics throughout their time at Stuyvesant.

The recipient will be selected annually by the Athletics Director.
