The Marjorie Tallman Scholarship

About This Scholarship

This scholarship is given in honor of Ms. Marjorie Tallman (1907-2000), who is well remembered as a dedicated and inspiring Social Studies and Economics teacher during her 40-year tenure at Stuyvesant. When she started, in 1932, she was one of only two female teachers at Stuyvesant High School.

Each year, a single student will be selected to receive a one-time award of $5,000 to defray first year expenses for education.


Applicant Criteria

  • Candidate must be a graduating senior from Stuyvesant High School.
  • Candidate must demonstrate financial need.
  • Candidate must demonstrate academic excellence and passion across all disciplines.
