About This Scholarship
The scholarship was established to honor the memory of Narayan Ray by his son Beevash Ray ’97. Narayan Ray was an immigrant from India who came to the United States seeking greater opportunity for himself and his family. For him and his forefathers before him (from the area then known as Bengal) education and helping others were the most important aspects of living a dutiful life.
Applicant Criteria
- Candidate must be a graduating senior from Stuyvesant High School.
- Candidate must be planning to pursue future studies and/or career in STEM.
- Candidate must display financial need.
- Candidate must have displayed academic excellence throughout their tenure at Stuyvesant.
- Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates of South Asian descent.
