The Esther Chiang Pan Memorial Scholarship

About This Scholarship

The Esther Chiang Pan Memorial Scholarship was established by Kelly Pan ’74 in honor of her mother, Esther Ben-Min Chiang Pan, whose encouragement and belief in education helped shape her daughter’s life.

Kelly’s mother played a pivotal role in guiding her to Stuyvesant High School—an experience that proved transformative. Surrounded by talented and motivated peers, Kelly found both inspiration and opportunity, eventually becoming the first girl on the prize-winning Stuyvesant Math Team. That journey began with her mother’s support and belief in her potential.

This scholarship honors Esther Chiang Pan’s legacy by supporting students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and ambition—particularly young women pursuing studies in engineering, science, or computer science. It reflects a commitment to expanding access and opportunity for students who will go on to make meaningful contributions in these fields.

Each year, two graduating seniors will be awarded $3,000 each to help defray college-related expenses.
