Stuyvesant Alumni from all class years are invited to attend our March 2026 VC/Entrepreneur/Term Sheet Discussion with Mike Zamansky ’84, Jae Zhou ’04, and other esteemed guests from the Stuyvesant community.
We are glad to extend this networking opportunity to Stuyvesant alumni, students, and friends. The event will be held on Thursday, March 12 at Stuyvesant High School.

Panelist Bios
Sim Blaustein ’95 is a Founding Partner at 1745 Ventures. Previously he was a Partner at Bertelsmann’s BDMI, which he joined in 2012 after co-founding the seed fund High Line Venture Partners. Sim has been in venture capital and startups since the start of his career, with current investments including Antenna, Letterhead, Omaze, Suzy and TVScientific. Notable exits from his time at BDMI include Barkbox (IPO), Pathmatics (acquired by Sensor Tower), Podsights (acquired by Spotify), Jukin Media (acquired by Trusted Media Brands), Food52 (acquired by TCG), StyleHaul (acquired by RTL Group), and Dramafever (acquired by Softbank). Sim holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and an engineering degree from The Cooper Union, where he graduated summa cum laude. A native New Yorker and graduate of Stuyvesant High School, Sim enjoys leading history and food tours of his hometown in Brooklyn.
Dan Borok ’94 is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of nvp capital, focused on backing founders building vertical AI companies that are shaping the future of legacy industries.
Before founding nvp capital, Dan was a Partner at Millennium Technology Value Partners, a multi-stage venture firm where he led investments in BigCommerce (IPO), Magnite (IPO), Envivio (IPO), Yodle (Acquired by Web.com) and Janrain (Acquired by Akamai). At nvp capital, Dan works with companies including Vulcan Elements, HomeVision, Compyl, and Upscale.ai, and previously on Podsights, acquired by Spotify.
Dan began his career at Google, where he caught the bug for venture investing and also saw firsthand the potential for high-quality enterprise software within an organization. Dan holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from the University of Vermont.
Jesse Nevarez is a partner in the Morrison Foerster (MoFo) New York office and is a member of the Emerging Companies + Venture Capital practice group.
Jesse advises startups, growth-stage, and later-stage companies primarily in the technology, healthcare, and life sciences industries, including those in the artificial intelligence, fintech, ad-tech, clean energy, digital media, software, consumer, digital health, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostics spaces, and related fields. As part of his practice, he counsels companies on a range of matters, such as entity formation, seed and venture capital financings, growth equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance, IPOs, and other capital markets transactions. Additionally, he regularly represents venture capital firms and investment banks on a variety of investor-side deals.
Jesse has been named to the Lawyers of Color “Hot List” and named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer “Rising Star.”
Tim Novikoff is the Founder/CEO of Super Teacher, an AI-powered private tutor for elementary schools that is used in 10% of NYC Public schools, as well as public schools around the country. He was previously the Founder/CEO of Fly Labs, which was acquired by Google. Tim worked as a product manager in charge of AI features at Google Photos, and was the product manager for Google Colab, an AI developer tool. Tim has a PhD in applied math from Cornell, under the advisorship of Steve Strogatz. Tim taught math at Stuyvesant High School, and was elected faculty graduation speaker for the Stuyvesant Class of 2007. Tim grew up in NYC and was accepted into Stuyvesant, but opted to attend the #1 high school in NYC, LaGuardia High School for Music & Art and Performing Arts, which is generally regarded as superior to Stuyvesant in every way.
Mike Zamansky ’84 has been called the “Godfather of CS of Education.” He is the architect of Stuyvesant’s highly regarded computer science program and during his over 2 decades running the program has taught and shepherded hundreds of Stuy grads into the tech industry. More recently, Mike has worked as a Distinguished Lecturer at Hunter College creating New York State’s first K12 computer science teacher certification program which has, to date, prepared the states first hundred certified CS teachers. Mike was also a lead author on New York State’s Computer Science and Digital Literacy standards and is a mainstay in the local and national computer science education communities.
Jae Zhou ’04 is a partner in the MoFo Emerging Companies + Venture Capital practice.
She advises emerging technology companies in all stages of the startup lifecycle, from formation to exit, and provides strategic advice to founders and investors in connection with complex transactions and other corporate issues.
Jae was born in Shanghai and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
